The California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation leads the U.S. in prison reform by supplying inmates with educational and self-help programs geared towards early earned release opportunities. Yardtime Literary Program operates inside six California State Prisons, helping both men and women inmates "find their voices on the page." We present to you vivid samples of current inmate writings as well as an open forum on California's efforts towards permanently altering the state's prison agenda. Former inmate students and prison administrators will be in attendance.
